Anne & Rob say “I DO!”

I usually don’t photograph weddings, but when I got an email from Anne about a year ago I felt that I had to make an exception. Anne and I graduated from Marywood University together and when she asked me to photograph her wedding I was honored and couldn’t say no.

It might not have been the bright sunshine day that Anne and Rob had hoped for, but they didn’t let it show. On June 11, 2011 surrounded by their family and friends, Anne and Rob said “I Do”……

The Dress, the shoes, the flowers….

I fell in love with her shoes…They were like little works of art!

Anne was such a trooper….she trudged through the wet grass and sat on a dirty rockwall(on a sheet of course…), all for some pretty pictures! She even risked her “Carrie Bradshaw” shoes….

Anne asked for some of her favorite images from her parents wedding to be re-created at hers….This is one of them.

I love a great candid shot…don’t get me wrong the posed ones are good too. I just love catching a genuine expression…

This is another photograph that Anne asked for from her parents album…The original is a truly gorgeous shot and I hope I did it some justice.

We had a little stop on the way to the reception for some photos on a very scary bridge…they were troopers for all the shots, but when I asked them to jump in the air on the bridge they said no way! I have to say I don’t blame them! The photographs came out great anyways…

I couldn’t have asked for a better bridal party to photograph…they really played it up for the camera.

Brady

I met Brady's mom through What's Kickin 3D/4D, an ultrasound studio that my photography company is affiliated with. Brady's mom is one of the ultrasound Techs there. Brady is such a doll, and was so well behaved! This first picture is one of my favorites! His little hand resting on his leg and his feet in mommies hands….aww…it just makes you melt! This is similar to one of my tademark shots because I find that they are always the most relaxed and content in mommies arms.

The next one I just had to post, as soon as Lynn put him down on the soft blanket he wiggled in a little to get comfy then cracked a little smile! Ridiculously cute, and I couldn't have planned it if I tried…That's what I love so much about this work, so unpredictable and yet sometimes the little ones make the perfect face at the perfect time!

I always say it's in the eyes, and this photograph definitely proves that….I finally caught his attention and he looked right into my lens…Priceless!

I think we tired the little man out because after an hour and a half of shooting he was starting to fade fast….

AAAANnndddd…he's out! Such a precious little man! He was so pooped out that he turned into Jello…

I had so much fun photographing Brady, I hope that I get the chance to photograph him again when he's bigger! They do grow so fast!

Jewelry

During the past couple of months I have been doing some freelance work for a diamond and jewelry company in Manhattan. The company carries loose regular and fancy colored diamonds as well as jewelry with regular and fancy colored diamonds. This was a specialty of mine for awhile, it can be incredibly challenging but I do enjoy that aspect of it. All of these images are diamonds and they are fabulous!!! It's difficult to get them to look as incredible as they do in person!

I love the heart shape of this next one…Awesome!

This bracelet took my breath away! It was so big and sparkled like nothing I've ever seen!

I loved the colors in this! So delicate looking but catches your eye at the same time!

Cutie Patootie Bauer-Socks!

I was so excited when one of my oldest and best friends told me she was pregnant and promised that I would be the first one to photograph the baby! Bauer Jonathan Maus was born on January 12, 2010…And what a cutie he is!!! We had to battle some tough weather to get there, but there was no way that I was going to miss this one! He was so alert, with his eyes wide open and taking everything in around him.

Becky and Jeremy are big hockey fans, hence the name "Bauer." I tried to encorporate the name on one of Jeremy's hockey sticks into the photo…His face is just so precious in this photo, every time I look at it I turn to mush!

I just love it!

This next one is one of my classic foot shots. I love the light, and the way the sepia tone looks with it…Super classic!

I love the next two…I just love pictures of newborns that show off their personalities and are just fun. Bauer was so alert and that really helped me get some great epressions from him! This is so rare with a baby this young!

The next picture is just precious…Bauer all cozy and snuggled into mommy's arms after a long day of having a camera in his face!

I can't wait to go back and see them!!! I just wish that I had more time to visit and cuddle him!

What’s Kickin 3D/4D Ultrasound Studio

So, I got a call a little before Thanksgiving from a company called What's Kickin', a Rhode Island ultrasound company that creates a 3D/4D lifelike ultrasound image. They saw one of my advertisements and asked if I could decorate the walls of their waiting room with my photographs. I checked into the company, talked with the owner and decided that this was a very good idea! This is such a wonderful place to go with your family to see and experience something that normally only the mother and father get the chance to see. It's such a warm and welcoming place to bring your family and friends to view your baby! This is an amazing technology that lets you see all the little features, much more than what you get from a routine ultrasound at your doctors office. I can't say enough about the place or the people that work there, I plan on going there when my husband and I are ready for a little one!

Alyssa & Ava ~ Two Little Angels!

I was so excited when I got a call to do photos of two 6 month old twin girls!! These two were the best behaved 6 month old babies that I have ever photographed…I showed up at the house with all my gear, to find the cutest little girl rolling around on a blanket on the floor and happy as a clam! I knew at that point that this was going to be a good one! One just smiled like crazy while the other had to study me for a bit before she cracked a smile…That's what I love about doing portrait work like this. I am able to show their individual character through my photographs. That's exactly why I love this first one, it shows one happy go lucky and the other is still not sure about the whole thing…She's a little more cautious. It just shows that just because they are twins that doesn't mean they are exactly alike. They each have their own unique personality!

I just love the eyes!!! They had gorgeous eyes!

The next three I just couldn't decide on…I loved them all! I always believe that a great shot is in the eyes…You don't have to show the whole face to get a great shot and great expression, it's all in the eyes sometimes!

I love photographs that capture unusual expressions…Something different than the normal smile.

They were so great!! I would love to go back and photograph them again! Thanks to their parents for being so relaxed and great through the whole thing! They weren't even worried about them not wearing diapers on their chairs! Thats really brave! All in all a great day!

A Walk with Bryce-A future heartbreaker!

I always love getting a chance to photograph my niece and nephew because they are sooo animated! My sister wanted some one year photos of Bryce, so we decided to take a walk up to a pond that we grew up at. It’s always picturesque and I knew I could get some great shots up there. So we all loaded up the Radio Flyer with the kids and started walking! It was a little chilly but the sun came out for a bit and it turned out to be pretty nice. Bryce got a little fussy but after a couple of hugs from mommy and a lot of nose wiping…He saw the camera and became a little model! I always have way too many favorites!! I like starting it off with a classic, and probably one of my signature shots…

I love the next two because of the water behind him…and what his hair did in the second shot!! So cute!

I love how when he sees the camera, he automatically knows what to do…What a natural!

Love, Love this next one!! He looks like a little catalog model!

The last two are some of my absolute favorites! I got to get in a few extra shots before the cranks set in and he was done…It was worth it, what a good sport! Look at those gorgeous blue eyes!

What a great little model! I just love him to pieces!!! Thanks to my sister for not worrying about his clothes getting dirty…It helped me get the shots I needed! With all the boogies, and a little bit of mud, a great day! I can’t wait to takes pictures of him again!

An Afternoon with my Niece Maia(The Ham!)

My mom, sister, my husband and I took my niece down to Narragansett beach to get some new photos of her at 2….I can't believe it??? She's 2 years old already! I decided to take them to the beach because she has been asking to go for a long time, and I figured this might be one of the last times we would be able to bring her until the spring. She is such a ham! She was running around with her uncle Brian having a ball! She is great because she will pose any way you ask her to and she has a great big cheesy smile! I just love it! She loves singing songs; when a took this one she was running down the beach with uncle brian singing "flying in an airplane." I just love this one!

I had so many favorites from this shoot that it was really hard to pick just a handful….Some of my favorite sessions are just running around with little ones and capturing them having fun and being themselves! I love this next one, she just looks so pretty and girly!!

These two are some of my absolute favorites out of the bunch. The sky was reflecting off of the water and it just looks like the water goes on and on…So cool!

Last, but not least….Just an adorable photo of her running around the beach having a blast! I love those kinds of pictures!!

We had so much fun…and boy did we tire her out! I think this is one of the last ones where she ran up to us and just realizes that it's cold out! Love, Love, Love her to pieces!!!

Baby Nicholas

I was really excited for this one because the proud parents are two very good friends of ours and it would be the first time that we got to see him! What a cutie he is! He was dressed in a little man outfit and had the chubbiest cheeks…I just love it! We got there and I got to hold him for a little while, then I was off to make sure everything was set right for the photos. I was really hoping that he would be super cooperative since Charlene had requested something specific that required him to not be a wiggle worm… I quickly found out that yes, he is a very active baby when he's awake. After a couple of hours of diaper changes, feedings, and a little love from mommy, he finally settled enough to get some good shots! This first one I just love, who cannot love Tigger?? Plus, we had just about wore the poor boy right out! How adorable!!

His halloween costume…

I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I'm posting both….

This is one of my absolute favorites!!! If this little face doesn't make your heart melt, than I don't know what will….What a handsome little man!

I love the next one because it was just about the time that he started to get fed up with me being in his face with my camera…Yet, that face is still so cute!

He was such a good sport about the whole thing…It's tough being in the spotlight! But when your that cute, you can't help but take a ton of pictures…

No newborn session is ever the same and it's always eventful! I feel like I leave each one learning something new…

“Our Staycation” – The Newport Cliff Walk

There are so many things to do around Rhode Island, and being new to the area we are still learning and discovering things about our new home. Whenever Brian and I have a day where we don't have any plans, we like to do what we call a "staycation." We pick something touristy, or just something different so we can see and learn new and interesting things about our beautiful state…This time we decided to do the Newport Cliff Walk because it was such a beautiful day! So, as usual I grabbed my backpack of camera equipment and my soon-to-be hubby and headed into Newport. We started by The Chanler at Cliff Walk, a mansion that is now a hotel, wedding venue, and restaurant…It's absolutely gorgeous and has gorgeous views, couldn't help myself and had to take a picture.

The Cliff Walk is a picturesque walk along Newports coastline with the ocean to one side of you and incredible historical mansions to the other side. There was so much beauty that it was hard to capture it all and hard to pick only a few pictures! This next photo is one of my favorites because every once in a while you run into these beautiful, tall gates that are so ornate it's hard to walk past and not stop to admire them. This is one of my favorites because of the weathered iron and the gorgeous view you can see through them…

This next one I think is just a great picture of the coast…

After a long walk through paved and dirt paths, amd over rocks we reached the Tea House…It's one of my favorites because it's so different from everything else around it and it kind of makes you feel like you aren't in Rhode Island. I'm not posting a picture of the Tea House but I am posting a picture of the tunnel that you go through to get to the path to the tea house…After a small wait for many tourists to pass through and get out of my shot, I got this…One of my favorites from the entire day!

That one is definitely going on my wall somewhere! The last photo is just another pretty shot of the dirt path in front of us…so pretty!

This was a great "staycation" and highly recommended…Although, you might want to wear really, really good running shoes and bring your own water. I learned the hard way and ended up with blisters on the bottoms of my feet! We also got ripped off by some very cute and clever little girls selling tiny waters halfway through the walk for a buck a piece…Brian was a sucker since he loves seeing young entrepreneurs!haha All in all, a great day in the fresh, salty air!
